Experienced Office "All Rounder" req ASAP

Bus Fox is a family owned and operated bus company dedicated to supplying a variety ofquality and affordable transport services to the Mackay region for over 20years.

Our "office all rounder" with management, accounting, business administration and communications skills is leaving July 24, 2015. We are seeking to replace this position with someone who has at least 3 years experience fulfilling the same variety of tasks.


Job Type: Full-time Salary Type: Hourly Rate

Essential criteria:

  • Qualifications in Business Administration (at least certificate III level), Marketing & Communications and/or Accounting qualifications (or similar)
  • At least 3 years experience in Business Administration (management experience preferred)
  • Excellentwritten and oral communications skills
  • Outstanding ability to multi task and prioritise tasks
  • Outstanding ability to work under pressure and learn quickly
  • Outstanding initiative coupled with the ability to follow strict procedures
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (especially word and excel)
  • Experience using MYOB accounting software
  • Layout and Design skills will be highly regarded
  • Open Car License (MR or HR license will be highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of the transport, mechanic or mining industry will be highly regarded


A general outline of tasks which will be required (but not limited to) are below:

Office management/Administration support
  • Letter writing & email communication
  • Personal assistance to the managers as required
  • In cooperation with the Fleet Manager and head of sales, generate official quotes and manage the quote register for follow ups
  • General filing & data entry support
  • Assist in answering phone and two way radio calls
  • Generate and distribute paperwork and memo's for drivers
  • Schedule meetings as required
  • Assist inmanaging owner's rental properties
  • Update documents such as bus time tables, passenger lists etc (as required)
  • Process purchases in MYOB
  • Process remittances (payments received) in MYOB
  • Assist in generating invoices for customers (as required)
  • Create and publish job ads as required by the Directors
  • Liaise with potential candidates and compile resumes/organise interview times
  • Liaise with drivers
Marketing & Communications
  • Publish regular Facebook updates and grow the page
  • Manage advertisements in the yellow pages and analyse performance
  • Liaise with printer for reprinting or amending of business cards
  • Create and distribute promotions via email, social media, newspaper and direct mail
  • Create other ads as required to be publish on online platforms and newspaper (vehicle sales, rental properties etc)
  • Assist ingenerating new business
  • Produce a regular e-news every 6 weeks (or as required)


Successful candidates may be given the opportunity to acquire a MR license and Driver Authorisation as back up drivers are always needed. This role is currently 7am- 4pm Monday to Thursday (working commitments can be discussed at the interview).
